The Western Carolina men's and women's track & field teams opened up their 2016 outdoor season Friday at the Charlotte 49er Classic. The Catamounts qualified a total of seven student-athletes for Saturday finals during Friday's competition in a highly-competitive field. WCU also picked up some top-15 finishes in field competition including a win in the women's discus by junior Hailey Cook.
